JEWISH COMMUNITIES AT COMMISSIONING SOURCES NATIONWIDE

Every branch of the U.S. military includes a vibrant Jewish presence, but at each commissioning institution, the size, structure, and support of the Jewish community can differ dramatically. Service academies offer dedicated chapel programs, while senior military colleges and ROTC units range from fully supported Hillel chapters to regional Jewish centers. JWW unites these diverse communities—no matter their size or resources—into a single nationwide network of faith, fellowship, and shared service.

Jewish Life at Service Academies

The five federal service academies—West Point, Annapolis, the Air Force Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy—are four-year, tuition-free institutions offering an immersive military education. Cadets commission as officers in their respective branches upon graduation.

Jewish Life at Senior Military Colleges

Texas A&M, Virginia Military Institute, The Citadel, Norwich University, University of North Georgia, and Virginia Tech maintain full “corps of cadets” programs within civilian universities. Cadets commission as officers through in-house ROTC upon graduation.

Jewish Life in ROTC programs nationwide

ROTC units at more than 1,700 colleges and universities nationwide allow students to pursue civilian degrees while completing military training. ROTC cadets commission as officers in the Army, Navy/Marines, or Air Force/Space Force upon graduation.
